The Business
This business is on an exciting journey of growth and global market expansion – you’ll find energy, innovation, unique technical expertise and a solid strategy to enable further market penetration. They’re a smart, independent operator delivering gas turbine services to marine, industrial and energy generation sectors. Since it’s inception just six years ago in Perth, the organisation has made a key acquisition in Canada and is now building out it’s capacity in the Auckland entity – this geographic footprint gives the business the opportunity to considerably scale their operations. 

The Role
The newly created role of CFO will provide financial strategy and stewardship of the business going forward. You’ll be a key member of the executive team, responsible for managing the group’s finances, including financial planning, risk management, record-keeping and financial reporting. You will provide strategic leadership to ensure effective financial performance and compliance with current regulations in each country of operation, while aligning financial initiatives with our overall global business strategy. Direct reports include two Financial Controllers (based in Perth and Canada), strategy is key though you’ll also need to roll up your sleeves as the business is growing and maturing. There will be travel expected between the business units.

What you’ll bring:
Our ideal candidate will be someone who’s keen to get stuck in and contribute substantially towards shaping the business going forward:
  • Substantial experience in a financial leadership position
  • Chartered Accountant in New Zealand, Australia or Canada
  • An understanding of how to structure and manage finances across multiple international markets including transfer pricing, forex, import/export
  • Experience transforming a growing/changing business, implementing process and systems, ERP implementation experience is ideal
  • High level communication and stakeholder engagement skills (Directors/Boards/Banks/etc)
  • Ability to travel internationally
